Dörphof

Dörphof (Danish: Dørphof ) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The community is located between the Schlei and the Baltic Sea about 5 km south of Kappeln Schwansen. Apart from the village Schuby belong the localities of Alt- Dörphof, Charles Berg, Charles Bergfeld, Crimea, Easter Show, Rohrüh, Schubyfeld, Schubymühle and Schubystrand as well as the goods and Springvale Schwonendahl to the municipality. In the southeast it borders the peninsula eponymous Schwansener lake, in the west it is traversed in a north-south direction through the Schwansenstraße (B 203) of Kappeln to Eckernförde.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1352 as Dorpe (village). Today the place as the named again after the village Good Dörphof, thus about village is called at the court of the village. In a similar way, the name of the pleonastic Schwansener ( = Swan Lake ) Lake derives as Swan Lake.

Dörphof was a noble good. It was originally in episcopal possession and in the 16th and 17th centuries in changing hands. 1723-1772 it belonged to the Baron von Reventlow, 1791 by Ahlefeldts and finally in 1858 the noble Convent in Preetz.

The Good Schwonendahl, originally a Grange of goods Dörphof, belonged to 19th century and early 20th century a branch of the Hamburg merchant family Jauch.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 seven seats and the two SPD.
