Groß Wittensee

Gross Wittensee (Danish: Store Vittensø ) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. The place is known by its sparkling water Wittenseer source.

Geography and transport

Gross Wittensee located about 14 km east of Rendsburg and 8 km west of Eckernförde am Wittensee on the outskirts of the Danish Wohlds in Hüttener Berge Nature Park. The Federal Highway 203 from Rendsburg to Eckernförde runs through the municipality.

Policy

Of the twelve seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 five seats, the SPD has three and the voter communities BfW and FWG have two seats each.
