Heinz Stettler

Heinz Stettler (* March 1, 1952 in the village of rain, † 24 May 2006) was a Swiss bobsledder and world champion of 1982 and Athlete.

Stettler won in 1982 along with Urs Salzmann and Rico Freiermuth and pilot Silvio Giobellina in St. Moritz the world title in the four-man event. 1984 in Innsbruck- Igls and 1985 in St. Moritz, they were each European champions. At the 1984 Olympic Games in Sarajevo, he won the bronze medal.

Stettler was not only bobsledder, but also as an athlete successfully. He won several medals at the Swiss Championships in the shot put and discus throw. At the age of 54 years he died of a heart attack.
