Kurt Meier

Kurt Meier ( born April 6, 1962) is a former Swiss bobsledder and Olympic champion.

The skilled programmers from the Bobsleigh Lake Zurich reached at the Swiss Cup 1986 in the two- along with pilot Ekkehard setter fourth place. Together with Ekkehard setter Meier won the overall World Cup in 1986. At the European Championships in Igls Meier sat in the four-man by Hans Hiltebrand. Hiltebrand drove the Bob in the cast Hiltebrand, Meier, Erwin Aptly named André Kiser and the European Championship title. When Bobweltmeisterschaft 1986 on the track in Koenigssee the Swiss four-man stepped up to the pilot Erich Schärer and won the title. Meier, Aptly named and Kiser were driven with two different pilots to two titles in the same year.

1987 Meier came back with Ekkehard setters and finished third in the four-man third in the Swiss Championship and the European Championship. The following year, contributed setter -man bobsleigh at the Olympic Games in Calgary in the cast setter, Meier, Fässler and Stocker to Olympic gold in front of the East German pilot Wolfgang Hoppe.

After a few years without international medals Meier joined in 1993 bobsleigh pilot Gustav Weder. In the occupation Weder, Donat Acklin, Kurt Meier and Domenico Semeraro won the 1993 Bob the title at the European Championships in St. Moritz, and at the World Championships in Igls. The following year, at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer Bobsled won with Weder, Acklin, Meier and Semeraro the silver medal behind the Bob by Harald Czudaj.
