Langeneß

Langeneß [ laŋənɛs ] (Danish Langenæs, friesian Nees ) is a holm in the North Frisian islands off the Schleswig -Holstein North Sea coast and a municipality in the district of North Friesland. The community includes not only the Langeneß Langeneß also the holm Oland and has over this a rail link over the holm train Dagebüll - Oland - Langeneß to the mainland.

History

Before Burchardiflut from 1634 Langeneß formed together with the holm Oland and other land masses, the holm Alt- Langeneß ..

1802 was the present Langeneß back three individual holms: Langeneß ( East), Butwehl (southeast) and Nordmarsch (west ), which together grew to 1869 by dams, fascines, and natural fouling. The original name of the island was grown together Nordmarsch - Langeneß.

Langeneß became smaller over the centuries. 1941, the formerly independent communities Nordmarsch ( former holm Nordmarsch ) Langeneß ( former holms Langeneß and Butwehl ) and Oland were merged into one municipality Langeneß. The Municipal House is on Oland, whose only mound is the most populous of the community. The administration, however, is on Pellworm because the community Langeneß belongs to the Official Pellworm and has no separate administration.

The largest mound on the Langeneß is the Ketelswarf, where there is also the tourist office is located.

Municipal council

Transport, business and tourism

The holm is further connected to a moor train through the Wadden Sea with the holm Oland and from there to the mainland at Dagebüll.
