Oldenhütten
Oldenhütten is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.
Geography and transport
Oldenhütten located about 20 km north-west of Neumünster in Akrug Nature Park. To the northeast the federal highway 205 runs from Rendsburg to Neumünster.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1538 as Hutten. The meaning of the name is not fully understood.
In the resort, which was in a wooded area, pitch and charcoal was produced, later there were brickworks.
Before Oldenhütten 1867 came to the district of Rendsburg, the village belonged to the forest villages. At the same time a school association was founded with Holt village, the school was located halfway between the two towns.
Policy
Of the seven seats in the municipal council has the Wählergemeinschaft nuclear plant since the municipal election 2008, four seats and the voter community AWG has three.
