Geography
Geographical location
Rümmelsheim is located in the west Trollbachtal close shortly before its confluence with the Rhine. To the south is the town of Bad Kreuznach, in the northeast of the town of Bingen am Rhein. Through the town flows the river troll.

History
1125 Rümmelsheim was first mentioned under the name Rimilisheim. Belonging to the real estate Waldlaubersheim, Genheim and Schweppenhausen village was under the administration of the Lords of Bolanden. Teilbesitzungen belonged to the Knights of stone, Lowenstein and Weitersbach.
Which belongs to Rümmelsheim Layen castle guarded the road over the troll Bach. Also it was built in the 12th century built in 1680 again.
Until 1772 there was a stand-by agreement with the city of Bingen. 1772 Rümmelsheim passed to the rule Bretzenheim by sale. At the time of French rule in the Rhineland (1796-1814) new structures were created in the occupied territories. Rümmelsheim went to the Mairie forest guest home. Rümmelsheim had 420 inhabitants at that time.
In the course of administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate came Rümmelsheim 1970 to the municipality Langenlonsheim.

Education
Rümmelsheim has a full-day kindergarten, and a full-time elementary school. Within secondary schools and other educational institutions in Bingen, Bad Kreuznach, Hargesheim and Stromberg can be found.
Economy
Home Purchase area around Rümmelsheim is the wine. Approx. 138 ha are managed by larger and smaller wineries in Rümmelsheim. There are also some smaller companies, principally from the service sector.
Viniculture
Rümmelsheim part of the " Nahe wine-growing area " in the Nahe region. In the village 18 wineries operate, the area under vines is 114 hectares. About 77 % of the cultivated wine are white wine varietals ( 2007). In 1979, 45 companies were still active, the former vineyard area of 216 hectares has since then almost halved.
Traffic
The Federal Highway 61 is reached after about 1 km at junction 48 ( Rümmelsheim / Dorsheim ). There is also a (mostly) hourly connections by bus to the railway stations in Münster- Sarmsheim ( regional train ) and Bingen ( regionally and nationally ) and a bus service to Bad Kreuznach. The airports of Frankfurt and Frankfurt-Hahn be achieved after approx 45 minutes by car.
