Winnemark

Winnemark (Danish: Vindemark ( wind field ) ) is a town on the peninsula Schwansen in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. Apart from the village are settlement and Good Karlburg, the courtyards Bockholz, Bock male, firecrackers Maas, Charlottenhof, emersed, Haber coupling, Hestemaas, Köllnerfeld, Mill Wood, mermaids castle, Scharfeck, Schwonsburg and Steiner wood and the Albert Schweitzer School for disabled Sundsacker in the municipality.

Geography and transport

Winnemark is located about 5 km south of Kappeln on Schwansener banks of the Schlei. To the east runs the Schwansenstraße of Kappeln to Eckernförde.

To Winnemark heard the Schwonsburg Peninsula, on the opposite of the city Arnis is said to have found a late medieval castle located.

History

Winnemark itself was first mentioned in 1462 as winds marrow. The oldest known district is Karl Castle (Danish: Geréby ), first mentioned in 1352 as Geréby. The estate was renamed in 1836 in honor of the Landgrave Carl of Hesse, who abolished serfdom in 1790 here here in Carl castle. The corresponding, more usually known as Lord of the Manor House was built in 1721. It is up now privately owned, in the past, among other things where the ducal family of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Glücksburg.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the municipal election 2008, seven seats and the two SPD.

Personalities

In Winnemark the former home and studio of the artist Gerhart Better man stands ( 1910-1992 ).
