Location

Wüstheuterode is a place in the calibration field and is located on the regional road in 1074 uder the direction of Vatterode.

History

The documentary was first mentioned in 1338 as " Hadewartherode ". 1424, the village was burned as a result of a feud with the noble family von Hanstein by the troops of the imperial city Mühlhausen and completely destroyed. Because it was desolate located for a time in the sequence, it got the nickname " Wüstheuterode " which since 1806 is also the official name of locality at the latest. The place belonged to the secularization Kurmainz 1802 and was subject to the jurisdiction of the family von Hanstein. 1802 to 1807 the place became Prussian and then came to the Kingdom of Westphalia. From 1815 to 1945 he was part of the Prussian province of Saxony. In 1945 the city to the Soviet occupation zone and was since 1949 part of the GDR. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Wüstheuterode was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, the city is part of the re-established state of Thuringia.
