Bald-Rock-Nationalpark

The Bald Rock National Park is a November 12, established in 1971, 75 km ² national park in the north of the Australian state of New South Wales on the border with Queensland.

The park is named after the " Bald Rock ", a region by 200 m towering granite collection, named and located in the " Granite Belt ", a region in south-eastern Queensland, which is characterized by an unusually high incidence of this type of rock. Before about 200 million years ago Stanthorpe came Adamellite, a rock with a granite-like properties, a tonalite, by intrusion into the existing sediments and metamorphic rocks. While this rocks eroded, the more resistant Stanthorpe Adamellite remained. The regolithische rock has created a landscape of many island mountains in the area of ​​the park.
