Cocoparra-Nationalpark

The Cocoparra National Park is a national park in the south west of the Australian state of New South Wales, 457 km west of Sydney and 25 kilometers north- west of Griffith in the Riverina. North then there is the National Park of the Cocoparra Nature Reserve. The National Park was designated in 1969 and is 8358 hectares. The nature reserve was established in 1963 and covers an area of ​​4647 hectares.

Geology and provincial nature

The hills of Cocoparra Range consist of sandstone from the younger Devon, siltstone, and conglomerate.

The park has a higher hills, including Bingar Mountain ( 455 meters) and Brogden Mountain ( 390 meters) are located in an otherwise flat landscape pot.

Climate and vegetation

The climate is semi-arid. The vegetation has adapted to it and is made of acacia, orchids, Ironbark Eucalyptus and cypress blue jewelry.
