Basket-Swamp-Nationalpark

The Basket Swamp National Park is a national park in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales, 558 km north of Sydney.

The largest part of this area 15 km north-east of Tenterfield is a swamp, whose soil is rich in organic material. The plants have a certain yellow color which can be attributed to old sulfur deposits. Flora and fauna are impressive. The park's name is derived from the central, surrounded by shrubs swamp. The branches of these shrubs formed a tissue.

This fabric from shrub branches remained unexplored until Dr. Marshall Martin 1998, a sea level discovered that had no connection to other areas thousands of years ago and on which a variety of endemic fish species had developed. Recently we have in this area in a deeper layer of soil (No. 27) 10,000-15,000 years old artifacts found. This discovery will certainly cause a substantial change in perspective on the Aborigineskulturen in Australia.
