Dunggir-Nationalpark

The Dunggir National Park is a national park in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales, 382 kilometers north of Sydney, 84 km north from Port Macquarie and 60 km south-west of Coffs Harbour.

The National Park is located east of the New England National Park. The landscape has a high, covered with eucalyptus forest mountain ridges and narrow, sheltered creek valleys with patches of subtropical rainforest.

In the forests live koalas, of which the park got its name. In the language of the local Aborigines, the Gumbaynggir means ' Dunggir ' koala. There are also Yellow-bellied gliders and Powerful Owls ( owl ).
