The park is located on the coast of the Tasman sea between Fishermans Bay in the south and Shoal Bay in the north. Two important points of interest include Point Stephens Light, a lighthouse built in 1862, and the emplacement of the Second World War on Tomaree Head, which was built in 1941.

The park surrounding the Anna Bay, Fingal Bay the, Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay consists of rocky coastline, sandy beaches and heathland behind it. Only here you can find the acidic volcanic rhyodacite.
