Yanga-Nationalpark

The Yanga National Park is a national park in the south west of the Australian state of New South Wales. The 31 190 -hectare park begins five kilometers east of Balranald and stretches over 170 kilometers along the south bank of the Murrumbidgee River. The park includes wetlands, swamps, lakes and eucalyptus forest shore (eg River Red Gum ). It provides a large scale breeding areas for waterfowl.

Yanga was formerly an important sheep breeding station, which was built in the 1830s, founded by William Charles Wentworth, a discoverer. In July 2005, the government of New South Wales announced that it had bought the station for the establishment of a national park.
