Guy-Fawkes-River-Nationalpark

The Guy Fawkes River National Park is a national park in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales, 560 kilometers north of Sydney, 80 km north-east of Armidale and 50 km north- west of Dorrigo.

The national park is home to more than 40verschiedene vegetation companies, 28 threatened plant species, 24 endangered species and important areas of primary forest. The Guy Fawkes River plunges over the Ebor Falls on the Northern Tablelands down. One finds spectacular examples of river valleys and wild gorges, especially on deep buried in the tableland of the Guy Fawkes River valley along an old fault fold. Even the wild and narrow valleys of the Aberfoyle River, the Sara River and the Henry River run in the park.

History

In the 1970s, the Bicentennial National Trail was planned (hiking trail to commemorate the 200 -year-old history of Australia ) on the route of an old cattle drive path on the west bank of the Guy Fawkes River.

Brumbies lived on the territory of today's national parks since the 1930s. Many of them were descended from horses of Saladin, what you see on the dun coat color. In October 2000, were shot on the initiative of the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service to protect the native flora and fauna over 600 Brumbies in Guy Fawkes River National Park from a helicopter. Since the campaign began more than 400 horses have already been captured and removed from the park. 200 of them were later sent back home.
