Murramarang-Nationalpark

The Murramarang National Park is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales, 206 kilometers south of Sydney. It follows the coastline of Long Beach in Batemans Bay north to Merry Beach in Ulladulla. The National Park is surrounded by the three national forests Kiola, South Brooman and Benanderrah.

Access

In addition to the Princes Highway, which limits to the Park to the west, there are different inputs. The two main entrances are located in the north near Bawly Point and Merry Beach and in the southern area at Pebbly Beach and Durras North. The roads in the park are all unpaved.

Pebbly Beach

Pebbly Beach is one of the main attractions in the park. The sandy beach lies between two capes in the middle of the park and is ideal for swimming and surfing. Further inland is hilly grasslands that then turns into woodland.

Attractions

  • Kangaroos graze near the beach. The birdlife, particularly the parrots, is worth seeing. Goanna dragons live in the area.

  • A campground is located just behind the beach.
