Tooloom-Nationalpark

The Tooloom National Park is a national park in the far northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales, 616 kilometers north of Sydney, about 50 km south-east of Warwick ( Queensland) and 70 km north-west of Lismore. The name is derived from the word Tooloom Duluhm the Aboriginessprache Bundjalung.

The park Gondwana Rainforests, which were granted World Heritage Site since 1986 and have been included in the Australian list of natural monuments in 2007 find. In addition, there are eucalyptus trees of the species Flooded Gum (Eucalyptus grandis ) and Red Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis ).

The animal world with 10 kangaroo and wallabies, including the rare Long-nosed Potoroo ( Potorous tridactylus ).

In the park formerly lived Aboriginesstamm the Githabul, with a land lease agreement for use of the area could be achieved as a national park. The Githabul are involved in the management of the park.
