1971–72 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1971/72 1st League was the 29th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With 48 points, the Army Sports Club Dukla Jihlava prevailed. For the team it was their sixth in total Czechoslovak championship. The TJ Gottwaldov rose as Table from the second division, while the Škoda Plzeň TJ in the League qualifying direct comeback after a year of second-class managed.

Mode

As in the previous season the league was played with ten teams. Since each team fought out against each group opponent each two home and away games, the total number of matches per team was 36 games. Champion was the winner of the Main Round. The-table rose directly into the respective national championship. The discharged last year playoffs were abolished.

Best scorer of the league was Václav Nedomansky Slovan Bratislava CHZJD, who scored 31 goals in the 36 games of his team.

1st League qualifier

The winners of the three second division groups, TJ Škoda Plzeň, VŽKG Ostrava / Vitkovice and ŠK Liptovsky Mikulas, and the point best runners-up of Group A Slavia Prague played in home and away matches for admission to the first league for the following season. Here, Škoda Plzeň sat through with eight points. Slavia was for the Second Group A, the B- team of Dukla Jihlava, nachgerückt because this was not entitled to advancement.
