1955–56 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1955/56, the first league was the 13th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With ten points in the final tournament, Final Rudá Hvězda Brno prevailed. For the team it was their second Czechoslovak championship.

After the season, the teams of military sports clubs Tankista Prague and Prague UDA went on in the army sports club Dukla Olomouc, who took part in the second division.

Mode

As in the previous season the main round to be played in two groups of eight teams. Due to the resolution of Křídla vlasti Olomouc immediately prior to the season, however, the Group A consisted of only seven teams. After completion of the outgoing and return within the groups thus the total number of matches per team was in the Main Round in Group A and in Group B 14 twelve games. The top two teams from each group qualified for the final tournament final, also played in home -and-away winner and its champion.

The last of the group B rose at end of the season in the 2nd league and from the two group winners this Czechoslovak in the top flight on.

Best scorer of the league was Miroslav Kluc of BANIK Chomutov, who scored 26 goals in the 20 games of his team.
