1985–86 Nationalliga A season

The season 1985/86 was the 48th regular season of the National League A. In the playoff finals, the HC Lugano set against HC Davos through and thus became Swiss champion. The Zürcher SC dismounted in the National League B, while the EHC Chur, rising to become master of the NLB in the National League A.

Mode

The qualification consists of two double rounds of 18 games in which the four participants have been identified for the playoffs. The last- placed club of qualification rises directly from the National League B.
