Anthony J. Armentano

Anthony J. Armentano ( born June 21, 1916 in Hartford, Connecticut, † December 25, 1987 ) was an American politician. Between 1961 and 1963 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Career

Anthony Armentano attended Hartford Public High School and then studied Business Administration ( Business Administration) at Boston University. After a subsequent law degree from the same university and his 1941 was admitted to the bar he began in 1946 to work in this profession. In between, he served during World War II in the U.S. Army, where he rose to become captain. In 1953 he was appeal judges. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. Since 1957 he was a member of the Senate of Connecticut, whose unofficial presidency ( President Pro Tempore ) he had held since 1959. Official Senate is chaired by the Vice- Governor of that State.

In January 1961, appointed after the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy Connecticut Governor Abraham A. Ribicoff to the new federal health minister. Following his appointment Ribicoff had to give up the governorship, which is now his former Lt. Governor John N. Dempsey fell to. According to the constitution of Connecticut then the President pro tempore of the State Senate was new lieutenant governor. It was at this time Anthony Armentano. He held this post until the end of the regular term of office in January 1963. In 1962 he renounced another candidacy.

After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor Anthony Armentano took over until 1983, various judgeships in his home state. In the end he was a judge at the local Supreme Court He died on December 25, 1987 in Hartford.
