Ernst, Germany

Ernst is a wine village on the Moselle. The local church is part of Rhineland-Palatinate, Cochem- Zell and belongs to the municipality of Cochem. The community Ernst is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Ernst is divided into the districts of upper and lower Ernst Ernst ( also called low- gravity ).

On the opposite side of the Moselle is Valwig.

History

It is first mentioned Ernst 777/778 as " Arnesche " The church today Ernst consists of two formerly independent centers of population. . Upper Ernst with parish church and old town hall, and growing from the 18th century Lower Ernst sovereign was the Archbishopric of Trier until the occupation by the French revolutionary army in 1794. 1815 were presented at the Congress of Vienna assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia and a little later combined the two places in a community, the two places. since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

The local council in Ernst consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.

Structures

The twin-towered parish church of St. Salvator, built in 1845 in the Romanesque Revival style of Rhenish Slate, is the symbol of seriousness.
