Masburg

Masburg is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Emperor Esch.

Geography

Masburg is located in the Eifel region. The municipality also includes the residential places and hamlets Birkenhof, Breitenbruch, House Constantia, Lindenhof, Masurenhof, Mühlenhof, Pflanzenhof, Präfekturhof, Ball Mill and beautiful views.

The town has a total area of 9.12 km ², of which 3.49 km ² of forest.

History

Around the year 1050 was the first documentary mention Masburgs.

By the end of the 18th century Masburg belonged to the Electorate of Trier and glorious country was assigned to the Office Monreal.
