Roes

Roes is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Treis- carding. To the municipality next to the place Roes include the Burg Pyrmont, Pyrmont the mill with the waterfall in the Elz River, Swan church and Pyrmont courtyards.

Geography

The place is located in the Vordereifel between Treis- carding on the Moselle and the A 48 The Elzbach flows through the Germarkung.

History

The place was first mentioned in the year 928. In a deed of 1121 Kurtriers the place is still called " Roseda " (Latin: rose turn = hedgerow of wild roses). The lords of Pyrmont were from 1317 as the successor of the Foundation of St. Kastor landlords in the village. However, the land was divided into several landlords. 1790 had next to the Count of Waldbott Bassenheim the Baron Clodt, Gymnich, the Abbey Himmerod, the Lords of brine maker and the Franciscan monastery in carding property in Roes. Beginning in 1794, Roes under French rule until 1814 and belonged to the canton Munstermaifeld. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. The completely destroyed in World War II in 1944 Swan church was founded in 1951 by KP Böhr in modern form rebuilt. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Coat of arms

The blazon is: " Over blue sign foot, in a silver swan, in silver, a green pole, topped with a silver urn, in three aristate (Golden) grain ears, front a red chevron oblique beams, rear three pile them asked red ( heraldic ) Roses ".

The swan on a blue background indicates the standing in the community property Swan church, which was built around 1460 to 1492.
