HÅ“rdt

The French community Hœrdt (German Hördt ) is located in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It has 4422 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) and is the seat of the Communauté de communes de la Basse anger.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village the highway from Strasbourg via Bischwiller to Haguenau ( D37 ). Southwest of the village is situated the motorway junction Hœrdt. Here branches off the Autoroute A35 ( Karlsruhe ) of the Autoroute A4 ( Paris - Strasbourg ) from. Hœrdt has a station on the railway line Vendenheim - Wissembourg. Agriculture is mainly known for the cultivation of asparagus. In the Collège Baldung Grien - named after the painter Hans Baldung - are taught 475 students.
