Schiltigheim

Schiltigheim is a commune with 31,633 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. The city is part of the Arrondissement Strasbourg- Campagne and forms its own canton.

History

Schiltigheim arose in the 9th century around a castle and a chapel around on the last hills north of Strasbourg and extends toward the slopes of the Rhine.
