Strande

Strande is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. The place is a Baltic Sea.

Geography

The beach is located about 20 km north of the city of Kiel on the peninsula Danish Wahld on the Baltic Sea. It is located about one kilometer north of the Kiel city limits (district Schilksee ).

The municipality includes the following districts:

  • Mill pond, about 10 households, 500 meters north of the main town
  • Eckhof, about 10 households, 1,000 meters west of the main town
  • Free village ( just east of the main road to the beach ) - free village was established in 1788 as Count of Holck, the squire of Eckhof, after the establishment of four Kätnerstellen and the dismissal of the serfs of his estate called the resulting village " free village" ( free owner) and they the present area free village set available to live there.

History

Strande is also a former military base. A U-shaped building complex is formerly of the present address " Stohler Highway 31" ( formerly probably Marienfelder road 125 ) under the name " resort Belvedere " was still used until at least mid-1998 by the Bundeswehr. Back in 1959, here was the armored reconnaissance company 180 housed and the last unit, the 2nd Company of the Marine Transportation Battalion 1 was stationed.

Policy

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections 2008 six seats, the voter community FWS has three seats and the SPD and the FDP two.

Infrastructure

Beaches located on the K17, the Fördestraße or Stohler highway, a well-developed two-lane road. It is sometimes signposted as a side route Kiel or backroad Eckernförde.

Strande has a marina, an elementary school, a kindergarten, a volunteer fire department, a police station and a kurtaxpflichtigen beach. Strande is a vibrant resort not only in summer.
