Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies

The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies were an American ice hockey team from Atlantic City, New Jersey. The team played from 2001 to 2005 in the ECHL.

History

The Birmingham Bulls of the East Coast Hockey League in 2001 were relocated to Atlantic City, New Jersey and renamed Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. As home ground the Boardwalk Bullies served continuously during the four years of its existence, Built in 1929, historic Boardwalk Hall, which offers 10,500 spectators at hockey games space. Their most successful season graduated from the team in the 2002/03 season, in which they initially on the first place of the Northeast Division completed the regular season, before the playoffs after victories over the Trenton Titans, Greensboro Generals and Cincinnati Cyclones in the final of the Kelly Cup Columbia Inferno in the best- of-seven series beat 4-1 victories.

Despite the sporting success - the Boardwalk Bullies reached the playoffs each season - they fell due to lack of audience interest in financial difficulties, as even just a average attendance of just over 3,000 was achieved during the championship season. Therefore, the franchise owner decided to relocate this following the 2004/ 05 season to Stockton in the state of California, where it has since participating under the Stockton Thunder of the game operation of the ECHL.
