Dorchester County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) St. George.

Geography

The County is located in the central southeastern part of South Carolina, is about 45 km from the Atlantic Ocean and has an area of ​​1494 square kilometers, of which 5 square kilometers is water area. History

Dorchester County was formed in 1868. It was named after the town of Dorchester in Massachusetts.
