Florence County is a county located in the state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Florence.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern South Carolina, is about 40 miles from North Carolina away and has an area of ​​2082 square kilometers, of which 10 square kilometers are water surface. History

Florence County was formed in 1888. It was named after Florence Harllee, a daughter of WW Harllee, a president of the Wilmington and Manchester Railroad.
