Clarendon County is a county located in the state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Manning.

Geography

The County is located east of the geographic center of South Carolina and has an area of ​​1802 square kilometers, of which 229 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Sumter County, Florence County, Williamsburg County, Berkeley County, Orangeburg County and Calhoun County.

History

Clarendon County was formed in 1855. It was named after Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon, an English statesman, historian and co-owner of the province of Carolina.
