Föhren

Pines on Meulenwald is a municipality in the district of Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Schweich on the Roman wine road and is named after the city Schweich their largest municipality. In Scots pine, the airfield Trier- pine is established.

Geography

Scots pine is in the range of Wittlicher Valley and south- east by the " Föhrener Heide" ( airfield pine ) and north-west limited by the Meulenwald.

At firs includes the residential places high cross, Marbruch and Terneshof.

The local council in pine consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The blazon is: " sign of decreased -curved golden lace, in a red kiln furnace with silver hole, split; front in blue a golden book, covered with black high cross, back in silver a red dragon. "

The Golden Book is an attribute of the local church's patron St. Bartholomew. It is delivered in a " sigil Paroche Eccl. S. Bartholomew " ( reprint 1787 Bistumsarchiv Trier). The red dragon is the family crest of the Imperial Counts of boiler Instead, the local lords of pines were since 1446 to the neapoleonische time as vassals of the Electors of Trier. The kiln is a speaking character; the place name " pine " is the Roman term " Furnus " = kiln ( for pottery ) or melting due ( for Rasenerze or copper).
