Le Zèbre

SA Le Zèbre was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The company based in Suresnes began in 1909 the production of automobiles. The brand name was Le Zèbre. 1931 production ended.

Jules Salomon, who later at Citroën the Citroën Type A designed the first Model 5 CV developed with a single-cylinder engine with 600 cc displacement. 1912 was followed by two four-cylinder models with 785 and 942 cc. The models were produced in relatively large numbers until 1917/18. From 1923 there was a larger model with 2000 cc displacement.

Vehicles of this brand can be seen in several car museums, mainly in France. According to a census in 1996, there are still 250 complete vehicles worldwide, with more than 20 are located in Belgium alone.
