Lüdershagen

Lüdershagen is a municipality in the west of the district Vorpommern - Rügen. The municipality is located southwest of Barth. Until 1 January 2005, the municipality was part of the then Office Barth- country; since it belongs to the Official Barth.

Geography and transport

Lüdershagen is located about 15 kilometers east of Ribnitz Damgarten and about 10 kilometers southwest of Barth. South of the village the main road runs 105 ( Rostock- Stralsund ). The community is located south of the forest area " Gäthkenhäger forest ".

History

Lüdershagen was first mentioned in 1278. The town grew in the wake of the German eastward expansion. Locators and first lords of the manor were the von Ploetz; Roloff de Plocech sold his property in 1290 to the city of Stralsund.

After the Thirty Years War to the year 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania.

The community was until 1952 part of the district Pommern -Barth and belonged then to 1994 to the circle Ribnitz Damgarten in the district of Rostock.

Restoration work archaeologists discovered in the village church Lüdershagen under the tile floor just under 300 to 700 year old coins of silver and copper.
