Lüssow, Nordvorpommern

Lüssow is a municipality southwest of Stralsund in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen. The community is managed by the Office Niepars based in the community Niepars.

Geography and transport

Lüssow is a two-part by the city of Stralsund community with small Kordshagen in the north and Lüssow and Langendorf in the south. Southwest of the village is located about two kilometers from the city of Stralsund. Through the district Langendorf the B 105 and the railway line Stralsund to Rostock runs. Lüssow itself is located on the B 194 Small Kordshagen is connected through a secondary access road with the road network. In the southern municipality there are two larger lakes, the Borgwallsee and Pütter lake.

The quarters are small Kordshagen, Langendorf and Lüssow.

History

The community part Lüssow was first documented in 1270. In the year 1302 it is the prince Rüganer Wizlaw III. sold to the city of Stralsund and remained in municipal ownership. From 1314 also Langendorf belonged to Stralsund. The village was small Kordshagen until the Reformation in monastic possession.

The community was until 1952 part of the district Pommern -Barth and belonged then to 1994 to the circle Stralsund in the district of Rostock.
