Matthias Ungemach

Matthias Affliction ( born May 21, 1968 in Dortmund ) is a retired German rower who won two world titles in rowing.

Affliction was launched as a teenager for the rowing club Meschede, later for the rowing club Hansa 1898 (Dortmund ) and coached at Dieter Grahn and Ralf Meyer Holt. Affliction won together with Armin Weyrauch 1990, the German championship in coxless pairs, then the coach called both in Germany aft. At the World Championships 1990 at the Lake Barrington in Tasmania Weyrauch and Affliction won the eighth. 1991 both changed in the four with coxswain to Armin Eichholz, Bahne Rabe and helmsman Jörg Dederding, in this cast the boat won the title at the World Championships in Vienna.
