Andreas Kuffner (rower)

Andreas Kuffner ( born March 11, 1987 in Vilshofen an der Donau ) is a German rower. In 2011 he was World Champion and 2012 Olympic champion in the eighth.

Career

Kuffner began in 2002 with the rowing. Since he studied at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin Beuth, he rows for the Berlin Rowing Club, with its club Aft 2009 he won his first German championship title. In the same year he won the bronze medal in the coxless four at the U23 World Championships. In 2010, the Berlin Rowing Club to defend his title in eighth. International Kuffner first appeared in the Rowing World Cup on, at the World Rowing Championships 2010, he started with Eric Johannesen in the coxless pairs and finished fifth. 2011 moved Kuffner and Johannesen in Germany aft, with which they won the German Championship and the World Cup regatta in Munich and Lucerne, in between the two occurred together with Richard Schmidt and Kristof Wilke at the World Cup in Hamburg in four to coxless and also won in this Boat class. At the World Championships in Bled of Germany won eight in the cast Gregor Hauffe, Andreas Kuffner, Eric Johannesen, Maximilian Reinelt, Richard Schmidt, Lukas Mueller, Florian Mennigen, Kristof Wilke and Martin Sauer helmsman.

In the 2012 Olympics he won the gold medal in London with the aft Germany.
