Mississippi RiverKings

The Mississippi River Kings are an American ice hockey team from Southaven, Mississippi, and was a founding member of the Central Hockey League, a North American minor league. Since the season 2011/12 they take part in the game operation of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

History

In the first six CHL seasons, the River Kings wore their home games at the 10,000 -seat Mid-South Coliseum from, then moved the franchise to the DeSoto Civic Center, one built in 2000, Arena with a capacity of 8,400 seats in Southaven, Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis. Before the start of season 2007/ 08, therefore, followed the renaming in Mississippi RiverKings.

In the years 2002 and 2003, won the RiverKings the Ray Miron each President's Cup, the championship of the Central Hockey League. From 2001 to 2006 they were the farm team of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Then their partners were at times the New York Rangers of the NHL and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. In June 2011 the team was inducted into the Southern Professional Hockey League.
