Neuhütten in the Hunsrück is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hermes wedge.

Geography
The municipality is located in the Black Forest Neuhütten high forest on the western slopes of the Hunsrück. The Allbach at Neuhütten together with the prim the Primstalsperre. The sand head ( 757 m) at Neuhütten - Muhl is the highest mountain in the district of Trier -Saar castle.
Districts are Neuhütten, Muhl, enamel and Zinsershütten.
History
Neuhütten with its current districts belonged to the end of the 18th century Sponheim fief Züsch. Neuhütten formed at that time, together with melting and Zinsershütten a joint district, which covered an area of 611 hectares. In 1790 the village had 100 inhabitants Neuhütten, melting 164 inhabitants and Zinsershütten 127 inhabitants.
In 1794, the left bank of the Rhine was occupied by French revolutionary troops. In 1797, lingered in the Muhl has become known as Schinderhannes John Buckler at the widow Dupré. From 1798 to 1814 Neuhütten belonged to the Canton Hermes wedge in Saarland Department. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements, the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia. The municipality was assigned to the mayor's Hermes wedge in 1816 established the district of Trier and was from 1822 until the end of World War II to the Rhine province. Since 1946 Neuhütten is part of Rhineland- Palatinate.
On March 10, 1966 went in the forest at the Forest House Neuhof, only five years after its entry into the 50th Starfighter Bundeswehr lost. On the morning of the 29 -year-old pilot Feldwebel Horst Stüber was started with its F 104 " Starfighter " at the airbase of the Fighter Bomber Wing 33 in Büchel / Eifel to a training flight in low altitude to France. Shortly before 14 clock the machine crashed below the Tyrolean head in a wooded area. Coat of Reason: The site goes back founded on a late 17th century ironworks. After 1760 a new hut today between the two districts was established. The furnace is in the sign in memory of the foundation of the town. The two houses are available as canting arms image for Neuhütten and the accrued district Muhl. The two golden deer antler are indication of the forest and wildlife wealth of the community.
