Schierensee

Schierensee is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. She is primarily known for the same commodity.

Geography and transport

Schierensee is just a few kilometers southwest of Kiel in Westensee Nature Park. East of the federal highway 215 runs from the keel to Bordesholmer triangle ( Federal Highway 7). North of the village is the Grand Schierensee and the little Schierensee.

History

In the territory of the present municipality Schierensee to settlement traces can be detected from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. Written Schierensee is mentioned for the first time in 1470 when a local on Good Bossee gob of Ahlefeld ( 1400-1475 ), where the land around the Westensee belonged to the village wholesale Schierensee and Rottenburg sold to the monastery Bordesholm. Good Schierensee

Caspar von Saldern, Imperial Russian Minister of State and Privy Council, since 1752 was the owner of the estate, and laid the foundation for the extensive photo collection. The mansion was built in 1776-1782 with Baroque and classical style elements and provided with a very progressive landscaped garden.

A large part of the interior and the cultural treasures of the material comes originally from the 18th century and is exactly like the building itself and the surrounding park conservation area. The landscaped garden is currently being restored. The collected in the manor cultural goods are updated continuously.

The mansion was renovated from 1969 to 1971 from the Hamburg publisher Axel Springer. Today the estate of Günther Fielmann Foundation Schierensee owned and used for agriculture.
