Seal of the Northern Mariana Islands

The Seal of the Northern Mariana Islands, an external territory of the United States in the Pacific Ocean, has a round shield and shows in blue a white five-pointed star in front of a stone pillar ( latte stone ) in the center of a white flower ring with inserted shells. Below the stone pillar in three rows in white letters "UNITED STATES " and including the year " 1976 " and " OFFICIAL SEAL ".

An inscription at the top in the limit of about two-thirds scale in white capital letters " COMMONWEALTH OF THE NORTHERN MARIANAS " is separated by a white line on the inside and on the outside edge.

Symbolism

The blue seal area represents the Pacific dar. The white star stands for the islands of the Northern Mariana Islands. The stone pillar and the flowers and shells embody the culture of the local population.
