Teistungen

Teistungen is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It is the seat of the administrative community Lindenberg / calibration field. Since 1997, the place is state- recognized resort of Thuringia.

Geography

Waters

Running Waters " Hahle " and " oak ":

The Hahle through the town and divides the town into two halves. This body of water is also known for its trout wealth.

The oak through the town, only a small part and then flows into the Hahle.

To Teistungen include the districts Böseckendorf with Bleckenrode and Neuendorf.

History

First mention

Teistungen was first documented in 1090. The story Teistungens was closely connected with the monastery founded in 1260 as a subsidiary of the monastery monastery Beuren Teistungenburg. The monastic buildings were demolished in 1975.

In 1283 bought the Knights of Hagen items in Teistungen. Therefore, two fortified manors those of Westlife in place were. There was the upper and Unterhof each with a residential tower. Böseckendorf

The town was first mentioned in 1250 in a document issued by Ulrich von Regenstein deed of gift.

Neuendorf

New village was first documented in 1274 as " villanova ". From 1512 to the mid-16th century Neuendorf was a deserted village.

Both former municipalities were incorporated on 1 April 1999 in the town Teistungen.

The local council of Teistungen is composed of 14 aldermen.

Mayor

Was elected with 82.1 % of the vote honorary mayor 6 June 2010 Horst Dornieden ( CDU). This was also a tenured Chairman of the Management Community. This situation prohibits the Thuringian municipal order. Therefore 2010 elections were arranged for October 10, in which Andreas Schütze (CDU ) was elected as the only candidate with 83.8 % of the vote for the new mayor.

A local partnership is to Dobšiná in Slovakia.

Culture and sights

Museums

Located along the former inner-German border is the Borderland Museum opened in 1995, which informs on the population in the border area of the history of German-German border and its impact.

Structures

  • The modern Catholic St. Andrew's Church was built in 1933-1934 by the Düsseldorf architects Thiethmann at the site of an earlier building. The Baroque high altar dates from the nearby former monastery Teistungenburg.

Other destinations

Through a restoration project was a trail around the reservoir bell ditch created and planted trees and shrubs. The lake was filled with carp, pike, eels, perch, tench and perch. The body of water is in the autumn months for pike fishing.
