Arguel (Somme)
Arguel ( Picard: Ardjué ) is a commune with 30 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district Amiens and Canton Hornoy -le- Bourg.
Geography
Arguel is located north of Le Quesne at the sharp, the river Liger in the north accompanying slope edge and extends over the plateau of the landscape Vimeu.
History
The church occupies the site of an ancient Roman camp, in its place Renouard d' Arguel at the turn of the 11th and 12th century a castle was built, which was taken during the Hundred Years War in 1347 by English troops. The French reconquest took place in 1402.
