Boves (Somme)

Boves is a commune with 3079 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district Amiens and the Canton of Boves. The place is located nine kilometers south of Amiens, on the banks of the river Avre. Also its tributary Noye crosses the city and flows only in the north of it Avre.

History

Signed in July 1185 King Philip Augustus, the Treaty of Boves, by which he acquired a part of the Picardie region.

  • The Natural Park of Saint- Ladre (13 hectares)
