Beauval, Somme

Beauval ( Picard: Bieuvo ) is a northern French village with 2118 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality belongs to the canton Doullens and is part of the Communauté de communes du Doullennais.

Geography

The national on Route 25 six kilometers south of Doullens located municipality was operated from 1891 by an operated by Chemins de fer the départementaux de la Somme narrow gauge branch line from Albert to Doullens that was set in 1949.

History

Towards the end of the 19th century, phosphate deposits were discovered in Beauval and developed. The textile industry also had a location here.
