Baizieux

Baizieux ( Picard: Boaiziu ) is a northern French village with 204 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme.

Geography

The community is located approximately 10.5 km to the west of Albert at the intersection of roads D179 and D452 department on the high ground between the Ancre and the Hallue.

History

In the 5th century, the Holy Pusinna Reportedly deceased here. In the time of the Merovingians to Fredegunde concubine and later wife of Chilperic I should have repeatedly stopped in Baizieux.

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
