Vaux-sur-Somme

Vaux- sur -Somme ( Picard: Veux -su - sonme ) is a northern French village with 301 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, in the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme.

Geography

The on the north bank of the Somme located in the valley, just to the northeast adjacent to Corbie municipality is crossed in the northern municipality of the department D1 road. A bridge (Pont de Vaux ) connects Vaux to the south of the Somme commune in Vaire -sous- Corbie. The Étangs de La Barette extend as far as Corbie.

History

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
