Glisy

Glisy ( Picard: Glisu ) is a northern French village with 585 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Boves.

Geography

Glisy lies south of the Somme marshlands around 8 km east of Amiens and 7.5 km south-west of Corbie in Amiénois. Launched by the department of road D1029 ( former Route nationale 29) and the railway line Amiens Laon ( with the no longer served breakpoint Blangy- Glisy in Blangy -Tronville ) laced municipal territory extends to the Autoroute A29. South of the D1029 is a commercial area. In the field of Glisie the Amiens-Glisy Airport is located ( Aerodrome d' Amiens - Glisy ), which was used in the Second World War by the Luftwaffe.

In Glisy was a Gallo-Roman villa. It also Merovingian items were found.
