Saint-Fuscien

Saint- Fuscien ( Picard: Saint- Fuschien ) is a northern French village with 933 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Boves.

Geography

The municipality is located in Amiénois 7 km south of Amiens on the Territory road D7 and about 6 km west of Boves. The municipal area extends over the Autoroute A29 addition to the brim of Amiens; a connection point is located in the municipality. At Saint- Fuscien includes the hamlet of Le Petit -many, Petit- Cagny and the Résidence Véronique.

History

The medieval history is closely linked to the abbey of Saint -Fuscien.

In the German -French war of fierce fighting took place in November 1870. Even in the First World War there was fighting and the town was partially destroyed. Also in June 1940, the community suffered damage. From 1899 to 1935 Saint- Fuscien had an airfield.
